Florid Rd. scrub habitat

Along both sides of county road 820 N (Florid Rd.), between county road 815 E to the west and county road 890 E to the east. This is east of Highway 26, south of the town of Hennepin.

Breeding birds along the stretch include, Prairie Warbler, Blue-winged Warbler, Yellow-breasted Chat, Bell’s Vireo, White-eyed Vireo, Blue Grosbeak, Orchard Oriole, Willow Flycatcher and Whip-poor-will. This is probably the most reliable place for Prairie Warbler in northern Illinois.

Note that the land on both sides of the road is private property, and birding is done strictly from the road-shoulder.
